The Laser Edition- Explaining the laser confusion

Don’t get fooled!

Think wavelengths that is what lasers are waves of energy or light and GUESS WHAT MOXI AND CLEAR AND BRILLIANT USE THE SAME WAVELENGTH!!!!!!

Both the Moxi and the Clear and Brilliant use the 1927 nm wavelength to target superficial and target water molecules in the skin to treat dullness, uneven skin tone and superficial sunspots. They are both non ablative which means that they leave the top layer of skin intact to keep downtime minimal.

How the Clear + Brilliant laser and Moxi are the same:

  • Both are 1927 wavelengths that target water and not melanin. (If you want to target melanin or sunspots you have to think IPL and BBL lasers)

  • Both are safe for all skin types.

  • Both are light resurfacing treatments.

How the Clear + Brilliant and Moxi are different:

  • The Clear + Brilliant can be customized to use both the 1927 wavelength and the 1440 wavelength with the Clear + Brilliant complete treatment. By combing both wavelenghts, the Clear + Brilliant can target not just pigment but also textural concerns that Moxi does not such as fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, and collagen.

  • Price: The Moxi retails between $650-$900!!!! and the Clear + Brilliant 1927 handpiece only treatment can range from $300-$400 and the Clear + Brilliant Complete treatment using both wavelengths can range from $550-$600.

Bottom line let’s talk to your providers about concerns rather than the name brand of a laser. Think about it this way- Botox, Dysport, Xeomin….They are all neurotoxins and all used to paralyze. Clear and Brilliant and Moxi are lasers using the same wavelengths and getting very similar results. Do not get fooled into paying a higher price for a 1927 nm wavelength laser.

Patient Discussion Points: Which One is Right for Me?

Let’s Clean Up the Confusion

  • If your main concern is COLOR (Redness, brown age spots, sun spots):
Opt for light-based treatments like IPL or BBL to clean up the canvas of your skin.

  • If your main concern is TEXTURE (Pores, fine lines, rough skin, acne scars):
Opt for a resurfacing laser like Clear + Brilliant, CoolPeel, CO2 or Halo to rebuild your collagen foundations.

  • If you want GLOW & PREVENTION with no lifestyle disruption:
Opt for a "prejuvenation" treatment like Moxi or Clear + Brilliant to keep the skin turning over rapidly

Be the Good,

Blair
