What Are Lasers?
A laser facial is an in-office cosmetic treatment that uses focused beams of light to penetrate the skin and improve its tone, texture, and overall appearance. It works by stimulating collagen production and triggering the skin's natural healing process to reduce fine lines, scars, and hyperpigmentation.
How It Works
During the procedure, the laser's light energy is absorbed by specific molecules in the skin (like water, melanin, or hemoglobin) and converted into gentle heat. This targeted heat acts in one of two ways:
Non-Ablative Lasers: Gently warm the deeper layers of the dermis to stimulate collagen without damaging or removing the outer surface of the skin. This option typically requires little to no downtime.
Ablative Lasers: Vaporize the outermost layer of the skin, promoting the growth of entirely new, smoother cells. This yields more dramatic results for deeper wrinkles or severe scarring, but requires a longer recovery period.
-
Clear + Brilliant is a gentle, fractional, non ablative laser treatment designed to address the early signs of aging, sun damage and skin texture irregularities. Often referred to as a "baby Fraxel," it utilizes mild laser energy to stimulate collagen production and promote rapid cell turnover without the intense recovery period required by stronger lasers.
-
Despite often being called a "BBL laser," it is not actually a laser. While a traditional laser uses a single, focused wavelength of light, BBL uses a broad spectrum of intense pulsed light (IPL). This broad spectrum can be customized with various filters to treat different depths and skin conditions simultaneously across the face, neck, chest, and hands.
BBL is primarily renowned for its ability to clear up discoloration and even out skin tone. It specifically targets:
Pigmentation: It breaks down unwanted melanin to fade sun spots, age spots, freckles, and liver spots.
Vascular Issues: The light energy targets and eliminates fine, broken blood vessels, facial capillaries, rosacea, and general skin redness.
Active Acne: Specific wavelengths (often marketed as Forever Clear BBL) kill acne-causing bacteria and reduce deep skin inflammation.
Skin Rejuvenation: The thermal energy heats the upper layers of the dermis, stimulating your body's natural production of collagen and elastin to firm the skin
-
A CO2 laser is a highly powerful, carbon dioxide-based ablative fractional laser used to deeply resurface the skin.
Unlike the gentle Clear + Brilliant or BBL treatments, a CO2 laser is an aggressive, gold-standard treatment designed to vaporize the outermost layers of damaged skin while heating the deep dermis. This intense thermal action triggers a massive collagen remodeling process to dramatically rebuild, smooth, and tighten the skin
-
The primary difference lies in the delivery of energy: while traditional CO2 lasers cause deep heat damage to the surrounding skin (requiring weeks to heal), a CoolPeel uses ultra-short, high-energy pulses. This enables precise surface ablation while preventing excess thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. This allows you to harvest the powerful texturizing benefits of a CO2 laser without the heavy recovery period
Core Benefits and Targets
Because it acts primarily on the superficial layers of the skin, a CoolPeel is excellent for treating mild to moderate concerns:
Fine lines and early wrinkles
Sun spots, age spots, and uneven pigmentation
Enlarged pore size
Dullness and rough skin texture

The Stacking Strategy
Instead of choosing between treating color or texture, a BBL Moxi combination hits both at the same time:
Step 1: BBL (The Surface Equalizer): The provider passes the BBL device over your skin first. This intense pulsed light targets pigment and redness, breaking up sun spots, calming rosacea, and destroying broken capillaries.
Step 2: Moxi (The Texture Rebuilder): Immediately following the BBL, the provider switches to Moxi. Moxi is a gentle, 1927nm non-ablative fractional laser. It creates microscopic zones of thermal injury just beneath the surface to jumpstart collagen production, smooth fine lines, and shrink enlarged pores
